Film Making-A process of creating illusions

Film making is a process of creating illusions but gives you a very much realistic and alive experience of life.

Creating illusions in a realistic way does not mean a film maker want to prove himself/herself how creative he/she is, neither mean a film maker want to make the audience fool.

It simply means a film maker tries to do it for educational and entertainment purpose, more over to enhancement of life and to connect with the audience.

It can be created through either visually or audio wise, it doesn’t matter what professional field you are in the film making  process, it can be created with that as per needed off course.

FILM MAKING-Process of creating illusions

Steps of learning in film making - a process of creating illusions

Explanation of film making – a process of creating illusion.

Let’s understand the word illusion first – illusion seems real although it is completely fake, means what it seems it does not actually what you think it is. It is completely fake but seems to be real.

The difference between fake and illusion is – fake is you can easily recognize it’s fake, but an illusion, though it’s fake still it seems to be very much real.

Let’s take an example of a mango and a rock, we can clearly see one is mango one is not, so if we say in that case the rock is the mango, then, that would be a fake statement because that is fake.

But if we want to shape and color the rock like the mango, we can( not for eating just for looking). Now we can say we created an illusion to look like a rock as a mango. But in reality that rock isn’t the mango, we just put some effort to make it in such a way so that it seems to be real mango.

Now, why there is even any need for creating an illusion in film making ?

Illusions in film making are not created simply because to make the audience fool, or to trapped them within it. It is created simply because to give a realistic and alive experience to the audience with entertainment and educational purpose ( in my perception, that’s the way it should happen ).

Like we all know environment has its own impact, when we are creating illusions we are basically creating an environment, and the audience will be experienced and impacted based upon that.

Now when it comes to creating an illusion in film making, we can divide it into two parts.

The illusion seems to be so real you can’t find a difference between illusion and reality.

Where we create an illusion it can be noticed simply because it isn’t giving a real and alive experience to us.

Definitely, everybody tries their best, no doubt. And as a film-maker or any professional creator related to film making, we all should or can do our best.

FILM MAKING-a process of creating illusions

In the process of creating illusions does everything is illusion in a film ?

Nope, as a film maker, you should decide which one you want to be real and which one needs to be created.

In animated film making everything or a larger part of it needs to be created, in a documentary, nothing needs to be created, various other stages of film making exists. We are talking about film making made with actors and actresses to represent the characters.

Let’s be clear about creating illusions with film making.

Let’s say someone has died and the family is crying because of the sadness. ( not a pleasant way to start with this example, I know but…)

Anyway ….

See the situation someone has died others are crying…

That’s the illusion that has been created. In reality, no one died, neither someone is really crying ( now that sounds a hopeful situation, doesn’t it? ),

It’s a situation that is created and everybody who is a part of that particular situation is performing and expressing their character through their acting skills.

Though it’s not real, still it has been created in such a way where it looks real, feels real, and with this audience gathers the realistic experience, sometimes may the audience connect with those characters in such a way that they also cried with those characters.

( it’s not a way to make someone cry unnecessarily, it’s an artistic representation to connect with the audience, as a film-maker that’s always a challenge ).

This is a process of creating illusions through acting.

If you don’t like this example let’s move further into a much more darker forest, let’s say you want a nuclear explosion, in the name of giving realistic experience, you don’t need to explode it really.

Because if you do, neither the film nor you would exist after that or maybe half of the audience would also be found a door to exit from their life before they really find a chance to watch the movie.

To fulfil these kinds of necessities, we create illusions through VFX ( visual effects ) or CGI (computer-generated imagery ) and with sound effects of course.

Don’t get too much excited or attached to the beauty of your own creativity. Yes, every creativity has its own beauty, but beauty turns into an ugly form when you lost the stability within you with too much excitement.

It’s you who is creating it, enjoy it rather than be affected by it, be a stable creative leader, don’t be a victim of your own creativity.

Questions and Answers.

It ( film making ) can be only for entertainment, but in my views it should be for both entertainment and education, again, it can be for specific age group but in my views it should be for all age group.

Because all the explanation here is just my own view towards film making, you may or may not want this kind of explanation, if you want to see other form of explanation when it comes to film making then there are four platforms where you might love to learn about film making.

These four platforms are

 1.Youtube ( Completely Free ).

 2. Film making Books.

 3. Udemi online courses ( Paid Courses ).

 4. Skillshare online courses ( Paid Courses ).

Well, doing business properly also is an artistic approach, every action that we perform has a certain artistic approach attached to it, how much mature and skillful we are is the only question ? As we all know maturity and skillfulness comes with our own experiences.

Though film making is an artistic platform it also needs an proper economical management to work seamlessly with so many artistic people and leadership. Art definitely comes first but economical needs and management can not be ignored.

So if film making is an artistic platform then business is also an artistic platform, I don’t find both can be conflicting with each other until and unless they are against human well being.

If your wealth means money then answer is definitely yes. Simply because it is also related with the business platform, so your expectation related to money would be there too. But where does that money comes from ? From the society or from the audience lives with in the society who watches your movies, right ?

If your film making contribute to the society for human well being then it will make the entire society to become prosperous and wealthy not only you or your film making, the only concern is, to make a film you need money, to recover that you also need to generate money after release it, though there is always a possibility of profit or loss.

If we look at it an another view I think the real wealth is exist with in you and that wealth is the real and honest artistic nature that you have, if you miss that in the name of wealth you only have money but with the cost of losing the real wealth.

It is like you will get a gold plate at the cost of losing your senses, now how worthwhile that deal will be you can use your common sense. Money adds certain sweetness or headache to your way of living that’s for sure ( depends upon your way of usage and living ).

If you use money to increase sweetness to your life it helps also if you use to increase headache still it helps as money does not have discriminatory power, the way you use it, it increases the quality of it that’s it, not just the way you use it but also the way you are choosing to have it also determines the quality of your life or the standard of your living.
